BEGINNING PRINCIPAL TESTS REQUIREMENTS

At this time, there is no Kentucky Principal Internship Program (KPIP) available.  However, all other existing requirements remain the same, i.e., testing and preparation program.

Steps to Principal certification:

• applicant must submit TC-1 application to the EPSB  
• upon approval of TC-1, the EPSB will issue a Statement of Eligibility
• after employment is obtained, applicant must submit Confirmation of Employment along with certified check or money order in the amount of $50.00 to the EPSB
• upon receipt, the EPSB will issue a 5-year Professional Certificate

On-line modules are being developed to assist first-year principals with Interstate School Leadership Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards.  In the coming months, the EPSB and a KPIP task force will be reviewing KPIP in order to determine what changes will be necessary to make it a more effective first-year induction program should the General Assembly decide to fund KPIP in the future.
